Have you ever wanted to create your own text-based game, where the player has to make decisions to choose the next step in the adventure? If so then this is the Fire Tech Experience for you! We’ll take you through how to plan out your adventure, how to use Twine to build it and how to use some  of the more advanced features in Twine to add an extra layer of polish to your game.

Course Overview

Did you ever play (read?) a “Choose Your Own Adventure” style book, and think, “I could make one of these!”? If so then this is the Experience for you!

We’ll show you how to download and get started using a tool called Twine. This is a browser-based tool and is designed to make it easy for users to create precisely this type of content. As well as showing you how to use Twine, we’ll also have suggestions for how to plan your adventure effectively. Once we’ve shown you the basics then we’ll also discuss some of the advanced features of Twine so that you can create the best adventure game possible.

This experience will show you how to make an exciting interactive game in which the reader tells their own story and takes charge of their own character’s destiny!

FireTech Experiences are a new series of short, high interest, fun and engaging tech demonstrations and talks. These are delivered in webinar style, using Zoom, with the main expert tutor showcasing a new interesting aspect of technology and learning. Apart from Zoom, no other downloads are required.
